| Recent Inventories: Recent inventories for the New Mexico meadow jumping mouse (Zapus hudsonius luteus) primarily have focused on montane populations in New Mexico. Studies by Frey have evaluated current distribution at both historically occupied sites and new locations. In addition, these recent studies have provided quantitative information about habitat associations of the New Mexico meadow jumping mouse, including comparisons of habitat with the western jumping mouse (Zapus princeps), which is a common species that also occurs in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. |
